Hiring a car or jeep will really enhance your stay on St. Barth, as holidays here are all about trying
out different restaurants and beaches. As the island is small, you can drive from one end to the other
in about 20-minutes, although the winding roads and steep hills, not to mention the traffic congestion
(particularly during the peak season months) mean it will probably take you longer!
Rates are approximately 210 euros to 280 euros per week, including insurance, and any valid driving
license will do. There are only two gas stations on the island (one near the airport and one in Lorient)
although there is an all-night automatic credit card gas pump at the airport station. Of course, driving
is on the right-hand side, as in France.
