South Coast - Beverley Hills

The best way to see Beverly Hills the home of the stars is to take a tour bus where your friendly guide will point out the homes of the rich and famous many hidden behind huge hedges and palm trees. Above Santa Monica Boulevard is where the mansions start. The tree lined streets Beverly Hills are filled with Bentley's and Ferrari's and beautiful people who shop in the world famous Rodeo Drive where every major designer name in fashion has a boutique, Armani, Gucci, Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Valentino, the jewelry stores boast names like Cartier and Tiffany. Other nearby stores include Magnin, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Yves Saint Laurent, & Pierre Deux. There are 5-star hotels everywhere, too many to list , amongst the most well known are,The Beverly Hills Hotel "The Pink Palace," containing the fabled Polo Lounge and the Beverly Wilshire where "Pretty Woman was filmed, The Merv Griffin Beverly Hills Hilton is nearby - where the Golden Globes are held every year. If you are looking for a celebrity owned restaurant where you have a good chance of seeing some real live stars then Ago is a favourite due to Robert De Niro and the brothers Weinstein (of Miramax fame). Ago sits on the corner of La Cienga and Melrose Like the clientele, it's as elegantly casual as an Armani suit ... Ago proves that sometimes, the simplest flavors are what make an excellent meal the menu includes very good upscale pastas, pizzas from a wood-burning brick oven, risotto, and the chef's specialty: bistecca alla fiorentina, a 20-ounce T-bone steak grilled at your table. In fact, De Niro is not the only star you are likely to see as Christopher Walkden is also a backer and Jack Nicholson a regular patron. They're open seven days a week for dinner, and weekdays for lunch. Dinner for two will probably set you back over $100. .
