Renting a car in California is relatively cheap!(compared to the UK!)
You can find an economy car for approximately $130 a week, or a large car
for $170 weekly. Most car rental companies require a credit card for payment. Your
credit card is also used as a deposit. Drivers under 25 years of age
may have difficulty find a company prepared to rent them a car and those
that do will often charge a supplement of about US$ 10 or 20 a day.
Basic insurance is often included with most car rental but is only limited
because it offers only a limited coverage of damage. It would be advisable
to take out extra insurance aswell. Make especially sure that you are not
under-insured, you might end up paying for any damages in an accident
that is not your fault!
